Youth Programming

Expect Theatre is committed to helping foster and develop new artistic voices and perspectives in Canada. Part of this commitment includes introducing elementary school students who face barriers to age engagement about the art of radio drama.

Kidcast is a free program that teaches students in grades 6 – 8 how to write, record, and perform their own original audio dramas. Participants learn about themes, genres, loglines, character development, dialogue, acting and how to perform foley arts (live sound effects). At the end of the program, the students perform and record their own audio dramas in front of a live audience.
